November 2011 - Road Trip--Pearl Cruise part 4

Saturday, 11/26/11

Got up late – well I was up around 6 am, started coffee, then back to bed for an hour – but that’s late for us! Showered, dressed, and went down to breakfast. It was a very nice breakfast set up.

Here is our suite!

Back to our room to search out a Wal-Mart nearby to find some water shoes and other last minute things for our cruise. Ashley called Mark’s cell, just as we were leaving hotel. She wanted to chat about the boys birthday party, etc.  Found Wally World. What a ZOO! Just like home! You’d think people were Christmas shopping or something! HA HA HA We found everything that we needed.

We decided to go to Hollywood to the Hard Rock Casino. We have been here before – back in 2008 when we stayed in Ft. Lauderdale 2 nights prior to cruise. We played a couple of hours and had lunch at the Hard Rock Café inside the casino. Mark had BBQ burger/fries. I had pulled BBQ Chicken/ fries. Mark got us an order of onion rings to share, Diet Pepsi & Raspberry Ice Tea = $45.00! We did okay first hour or so, then had lunch. We wandered a bit together for awhile after lunch then separated again. Ended up leaving about 5pm, nobody big winners. Nice for something to do for the afternoon.

 We found a ‘Checkers’ Drive Thru” on the way back to the hotel. Mark first went thru the drive-thru the WRONG way!  LOL no wonder we got funny looks!  We thought to grab stuff to take back to the room and just hang out. We got burgers / fries and I got a banana milkshake!

Then back to the room to just veg out and relax…and “enjoy the room”!  LOL We rested for awhile, then began to get organized for the cruise. We had cruise suitcases and hotel overnight bags and carry on bags to organize. What fun! LOL It really didn’t take too long, as we knew what went where. It was just getting it all to fit.  Our hotel is near the airport, as they planes are really flying LOW overhead.

            We got the shuttle arranged for 11am tomorrow to take us to POM for only $39.00! That is for both of us, not per person! The hotel recommended this person’s service, and they are letting us park the car here at the hotel all week for FREE! SWEEET!!. I’m feeling sleepy tonight – like I need a vacation! LOL Mark is feeling better, finally! We both were fighting off colds prior to leaving and were heavy on the Dayquil / Nightquil routine.

We finished “The Divide” Friday night in the car. Nice that we can start a new audio book on the way home. This story kinda haunted me, for lack of a better way to describe it. It just stuck with me, I guess. Mark is getting caught up in Pawn Stars on the tv now. And How I Met Your Mother Re-runs. I’m ready to call it a night, and go into the bedroom and command that tv. I think the OWN CHANNEL is calling my name! Ha ha.
